Once more Earnie, the trivia and criticism of Prime Minister is overwhelming. What is trully a worry is the fact a 5 year old can understand what the FMI does and how that has an impacto in our everyday living. (my experience from an overseas trip)but getting back home, it is very poor the level of discussion you bring. Thinking of your PM as such or not, it says more about your lackings than any shadow resemblance with a person willing to think beyond strategies that distract from serious matters.

Tony Abbott's main criticism appears to be his negativity. Well, that IS the nature of the opposition beast. Furthermore, I have always found it difficult to think of Julia as my PM when I consider how she got there from both her private (pre political) and political history. If this is the best Australia can come up with, God help us all!

Jenny, 'winging' is not a bad thing. I often find that personal attachment to a men makes women to defend all men. I am not against all men or women for the same matter. Here we are talking about why feminism exist and why women do not rich their full potential QUITE OFTEN because their ongoing dismissal by patriarchal, mysoginist behaviours. I don't think Prime Minister Gillard has the power to put back a powerful movement 50 years behind, I think women who are in continuous denial of the fact we live in a society that highly discriminates upon women is what stops a dynamic, progressive achievement of women in all areas of society. Just look at any statistics in crime, wealth, ownership and so on... get the facts!

Ann, you can speculate about jealously and the dramating 'kniffing'howev er, how far do you go with these comments? I often wonder what can be done to raise/or simply engage with the political discussion in Australia about issues that are a major concern to disadvantaged people, including those who are yet to set a foot in an educational institution? This is not to say there are not thinkers outside these grounds, simply, there is a huge need for people to gather information, to critizise it and put thing into a context - not just Gullible gossip or pieces of trivia that are simply meaningless.

Jeny Bell, it is obvious that Gullible woman touched your cords. feminism was not created overnight! why? men's anger, violence, emotional accussations, predatory behaviour, overlooking women's work and efforts in all areas of society. As long as women and men think that feminism is something as simple as to "get over", women will continue to be accused for wearing short skirts and getting raped, for not having her own income because they devoted themselves to their family, and so on. Do you know what respect is? In one sentence, when we can 'say behind every successful women is a very clever men' and for you, it will be something like 'behind every respectful women there are a lot of very bad women demanding that'.

re the comments about women being "gullible " ..I certainly am NOT ! ..over the last 12 months , I have tried to get ALL Australians to wake up , speak up , and take a part in their future instead of just moaning about it ....but the old Aussie code of "She'll be right mate " , is very hard to get rid of !We are so damned APATHETIC...whe n it comes to getting involved . Ms Gillard can use the word Misogyny , all she likes & the feminists back her every word ... well JULIA...GET OVER IT !! if you want to be treated with respect , EARN it ...dont expect respect just because you are female ,,what an idiot I was , I voted Labor in 2007...but NEVER AGAIN !!!!!! this govt , in my opinion, is totally incompetent & corrupt !!!!

Go back through Hansard and you will see Julia Gillard has called Tony Abbott some really nasty names. I have NEVER seen such nastiness from a Prime Minister as we are presently seeing from Julia Gillard. As Jeff Kennett said in a recent article in the Herald-Sun, about previous leaders, "Never did they personally denigrate their opponents. It was always about substance and policy." Julia Gillard's hatred of Tony Abbott is incredible. I sometimes wonder if she is jealous of what he has achieved in his life, for example: he is a Rhodes Scholar. Tony Abbott has done a lot for the community what has Julia Gillard done? I think Julia Gillard was more involved in the knifing of Kevin Rudd long before that night in June 2010. An opposition does not introduce policies too far out from an election as a sitting government can pinch the idea and turn it into their own.

Jolly - only one political party at the moment seems to have any policies - and they are implementing them. "No [insert target word]" is not a policy. Abbott has been needling Gillard for years. I would like to know why she didn't respond earlier. His behaviour has been disgusting.

Women can be as gullible as much as SOME people can be blind not to notice: Gender Discrimination, Sexism, Misogynist attitudes. The very responses that reject the claim made by Prime Minister Guillard, are very much the ones that fear talking about the WHITE elephants in the room - Indigenous, women, poor, gay, 'Others' of colour and people with menatal or physical disadvantages. Policies are based precisely in looking at how the nity gritty of certain attitudes invalidate others, set up people in disadvantage and create discriminations . Lets start talking about policies that are progressive and address these issues, including ignorance.

Are women so utterly gullible as to be conned into this "misogynist' and gender related devious schemes by the current Labor leadership? Our PM and her co-plotters are so desperate and devoid of good policies that they have now embarked on both class and gender wars.
