It's summer and it's hot - how much hotter will it get because of the greenhouse effect, and what will we do about it? The federal government thinks it has some answers, we ask you for some of yours.

This questionnaire is being run as part of the What The People Want project in collaboration with Madonna King's ABC Brisbane Morning Radio program.

If you know anyone else who might like to participate, please forward this URL on to them.

1. The Nuclear Taskforce set-up by the Federal Government under the chairmanship of Ziggy Switkowski says the establishment of 25 Nuclear power stations near current coal fired generators by 2050 would reduce Australian carbon-dioxide emissions by 18 percent. Do you agree that we should use Nuclear energy to achieve this result?

2. Thinking about your answer to the previous question, in a short paragraph please give us your reasons for that answer.

3. The taskforce, also proposes the introduction of a tax on carbon emissions. By making carbon emitting technologies like coal and oil more expensive it would encourage the construction of power stations using gas, clean coal technologies and nuclear power. Do you agree with this method of achieving this result?

4. Thinking about your answer to the previous question, in a short paragraph please give us your reasons for that answer.

5. Some commentators suggest that the taskforce recommendations will make electricity at least 30% more expensive. Do you agree that electricity should be more expensive to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases?

6. Thinking about your answer to the previous question, in a short paragraph please give us your reasons for that answer.

7. Temperatures are predicted to rise by anywhere up to 5° in parts of Australia because of the Greenhouse effect. This will cause deaths as well as making life very uncomfortable for all of us. Would you agree that now is a good time to buy an air conditioner?
