First preference index remains stable

This was before Nova Peris was picked as a senator, the Prime Minister announced the date of the election, Craig Thompson was charged, and two cabinet ministers decided to resign.

Newspoll has been in the field since then and if these things haven't impacted on the government's vote, something else seems to have. In any event, there appears to have been a significant decrease in the government's vote which we were too early to have a chance of capturing.

I'll do a poll soon to see if we can find out why that vote has changed. I'm happy to accept it might be something quite different from my hypotheses above.
