Over the same period perceptions of how respondents' personal circumstances were faring have improved. 63% think that their personal situation is heading in the right direction now, compared to 57% in October. Disagreement with this proposition is now 16% and it was 22% in October last year.

As respondents know more about their own circumstances than they can possibly know about the country's (no matter how well-informed they might be), this indicates a high level of confidence.
